What is best a custom Rolex or a Rolex that is stuck in custom?

Buy a professional camera and you´re a professional
photographer, buy a flute and you own a flute.

And they shall succeed it, my friend unless you begin soon to flip some in order to get some. Otherwise (as a keeper) you can't survive in the watch hobby

Killer pic (as usual) and killer collection (the German part of it)

I can understand your problem, Jocke. Perhaps you should diversify with some Swiss and Japanese or Chinese types.

I see a couple of Dornblueth & Sohn references lumped into the mix. Great collection. Thanks for sharing.

I have been, myself, growing more interested some of the German manufacturers (I have always just assumed that it's "swiss made" or nothing). Lange's are out of my price range, but I have grown interested to learn more about Glashutte Original. They seem to be great value for money (like JWC) - are they just Lange's on a budget?

I made a pit stop in Hamburg and saw the gray dial/dark blue suede band Panomatic and have been intrigued by the brand since. There is something about German design/manufacturing that I have always been attracted to (Classic SL mercedes, etc.).

Can anyone here provide a "primer" on the brand/quality etc. or historical or well-known issues that the watch may carry? Thanks.
