Incoming! Zenith TYPE 20 Montre D'aéronef

Not the awe-inspiring 57 mm Neuchatel Observatory recognized 5011, but its smaller cousin, the 40 mm 681!

To read about the 57 mm from a fellow member: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=265179

Zenith is the pioneer of the Pilot watch in the 1930s, precursor to the now widely recognized B-Uhr silhouette, and holds the exclusive trademark to use the word 'Pilot' on wristwatches.
History here: https://monochrome-watches.com/histo...ronef-type-20/

When I began looking for a "pilot watch", I considered among the following choices, as IWC is a brand I'd like to explore, and I already have a couple of Zenith.

The deal maker for me is the thick WWII style, 1930s-esque instrument lugs, which oozes tool watch. The applied solid chunks of Super-LumiNova indices pop up (like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man), and the nicely proportioned bezel also made the decision easier, not to mention price - 1/2 of any of the IWC.

The Elite 681 is the company's first CAD movement and a proven workhorse, so I knew reliability and service would not be issues.

Although not listed as anti-magnetic, I found this photo online showing a metal cage around the movement - while not exactly a Faraday Cage, perhaps someone here can tell me if it also any properties? Other than holding a 26 mm movement in a 40 mm case.

Without further ado, my newest arrival:

Thanks for the read, glad to answer any questions!

Very nice!

I see that screw head on the lug. So this does not have a spring bar?

nice watch.

not a great fan of pilot watches but this one seems to be very nice.
at the size of its case is ok for daily wear.
