What will replace carbon and ceramic divers?
Well the title says it all, what do you think will replace these 3 models since it's clear now that they are discontinued? Don't know how a RG would be, the Wempe one was great, maybe a titanium model, the ultra light weight would be very cool, I don't think they will leave it as is with just 2 SS models considering the history of this model and the different materials you could get it in…
What do you think? Have any ideas on future material possibilities? How happy I am to be one of the few owners to have one, ok I had more exclusive pieces, a Pam 82 "shadow case" for example, but didn't love it as much as this one…. |

Such a shame, the black/orange Ceramic is such a great watch.
Maybe Titanium or Tantalum for 2016? |

Well I'm not a big fan of bronze watches, for me I would love if they made a RG diver with cermet or ceramic bezel, that would be great, I'm sure they're gonna come up with something to replace the CE and FC models, one thing is sure with the CE discontinued I will never flip this one as it will probably be hard to find another one, so if I want a watch I'll save up and wait but not flip it thinking "it's ok I'll get it back later" because with around 600 made you can't say that they flooded the market with them, they will be hard to find as they're not super expensive and are awesome timepieces... |

Seems it would go against the basics of the ROO line which is oversized sports watches, but I may be wrong, Can cermet be used for a watch case or only for bezels? If yes that would be awesome, a grey diver with anthracite dial in cermet, and of course grey rubber strap, now that would be a killer watch if you ask me, seeing their history and past models I can't imagine them sticking with the SS divers, that would not be cool, bit they are maybe doing this for people who want special materials to go for the 44's by not offering any special material model in less than that size...

JLC makes an AMVOX5 with a black cermet case
Omega has a grey ceramic that looks like metal Would be cool if AP used cermet or a grey ceramic for a bezel and/or case |

Yes I would love a grey ceramic or cermet diver case and bezel, IMO it would look great, I can't believe they're going to limit the diver to SS versions, the on:y reason why they would do that is to make it an obligation for those who want special materials to go for the more expensive 44mm's, that would be a shame I think

Maybe AP will look at the material Linde Werdelin uses for their Oktopus Moonlite, which is an alloy mainly of magnesium, aluminium, and zirconium, with a treatment process which offers much greater scratch resistance properties than typically used DLC does.
It also bonds to the material 15 microns deep, with double the 5 micron surface layer as DLC, so if a scratch does manage to occur, it’ll not display the underlying raw metal that DLC will. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pv1-0Ew8xFA |

But of course your lips are sealed not even a little hint? I think we can expect the TI version for sure, that would be the best bet IMO, great if the bezel is ceramic or even better if cermet with grey dial, don't know why but I really feel like this one is coming, I'd bet on a TI, for the bezel and dial not sure but case I really sense it...

Where typical DLC coatings used by Swiss manufacturers is 2000-3500 HV (Vickers hardness scale), the company Linde Werdelin uses, offers 5000 Hv. The Oktopus Moonlite is similarly as hard, with the clear coating it uses. http://www.lindewerdelin.com/thelab/...istory-of-dlc/ http://www.lindewerdelin.com/thelab/the-beauty-of-alw/ |

Just wish they started making new 47-48mm divers or other watches in that size range for that matter. Love the Legacy and T3 in photos but never seen one in the flesh before:(
