Pinion

I recently discovered the young British watch company Pinion and love them.

I think they produce wonderful designs with great attention to detail and beautiful straps.

The bronze models are particularly interesting: after seeing their bronze cases it left me wondering why there aren't more companies using this material.

Here's a small picture of my collection so far: two Axis models (one bronze, one stainless steel) and their 'revival 1969' Chronograph.

Nice collection you have there. What do they use for movements? I am right there with you on the bronze. Pam bronzo is about the only big name company that I know of that uses bronze cases. I am sure there are others. Ickler is the big bronze case manufacturer that I know of in Germany. I have a couple Archimede bronze pieces. A diver and a pilot. Love them. And the patina makes them better and better. ETA based automatics for the most part. Some Miyota's.

The Axis have a ETA 2824-2 and the R1969 (chronograph) has a NOS Valjoux 7734 (from 1969) hand-wound movement.

The Valjoux movement is visible through a smoked glass window on the back, but my photography's not up to capturing it unfortunately...

Very Nice, If I remember correctly the founder of Pinion was a big fan of Bremont!

As am I... here's two I own.

I like the fact that Pinion follows the same design philosophy as Bremont, but they've got their own unique styling.

Bronze with my acid sweat don't mix as there were several fashion watch brands I wore growing up the used plated bronze cases. I always pitted them in under a year. Nice looking watches though!
