Any Information on this Antique (Or Vintage) Rolex?

I have not taken this one in yet, was just wondering if anyone has any idea , any information.

I know the bracelet/band is new. The watch itself is what I am curious about.

If this can't go here let me know. I am not even sure its year, nor anything else. It popped out of the safe at me the other night.

I can't find any engraving on case but have not opened it or taken off the band yet either.

Thank you for any thoughts or ideas of what it might be so I could at least start googling!

That is an interesting time for Rolex..

During that time Aegler made the same movement for both Gruen and Rolex and put them in the rectangular cases..

Kind of leaves one for research since the movements were the same... inside engravings could tell you if it is a Gruen or a Rolex as the dial is easily changed..

Looks like another 'fun' one lol :) Thanks so much for the information, a starting point is nice.

Apparently noone in San Diego is really well versed in Vintage, I was under the impression (wrongly so) a Rolex guy is a Rolex guy as long as he is well certified, as I am learning not so much with Vintage as they like to just put in the newer parts.

I will at least take it down though and have him open it up to verify inside. Even if he can't know much else. Though maybe he can make it run, this one does not run.
