USCG officer's original 5513 Submariner

Hi Everyone,

Just posted a new story on my blog Watch Patina. It features one of our very own: JohnBaker3. John shared a lot of detail about the purchase back in 1972 and how he used his Sub as a navigation tool in the Coast Guard.

I want to say a BIG "Thanks" to rolexforums for introducing me to John. Also, a special "Thanks" to John for telling me his story AND for his service to our country! "Thank You" John!

Great story and write up. Amazing watch, and I'm guessing 1-owner examples from this era are becoming quite rare.

Nick:

Thanks for the great write up on my 5513....I now have 1001 reasons to take even better care of it, rather than just leaving it in the back of the desk drawer!

Be safe.

I personally think there's a lot of one-owner watches out there; finding them (and getting people to share their history of ownership) is the challenge...

Thanks so much for reading; glad you enjoyed
