Potential trade for Platona

After trying on the Platona a couple of weeks ago, it has become a must have. Only issue is right now I would need to "make some room". Question is this. Would you trade a YG SubC & a YG GMTIIC toward a Platona? Or just wait until you could add it? Currently have (5) Rolexes, RG DDII, YG SubC LN, YG GMTII green dial, YM blue dial & ND SubC.

Personally, I'd do it, but that's because I don't care for yellow gold watches. Good luck.

I'd trade the GMT, the YM, and the no date sub. Keep the YG sub.

I think the same thing. Would keep the no date sub as i think everyone should have one SS watch as you never know when you would want to wear SS. But trade the GMT and YM probably going to have to add a little. Even if you dont get the Plantona you have a great collection imo.

I always add, but never subtract. Every watch was purchased for a reason. If you need to sell them or trade them in for the new piece I would just wait until you could afford it.

I would personally trade the Sub (given the fact it is the LN and not LB) and the YM and add funds. One YG should remain in your collection in my opinion.

Same here. Not a huge fan of YG so I'd do it.

With that collection I would wait till I could add it but if unloading is necessary I would unload the DD and YM. Again, though I would just wait and add. I find the the anticipation is generally far more rewarding than the having anyway. Once I have it its not long till the new wears off and another one becomes the object of my desire.

I never sell or trade, only add.
If I buy a watch, it's for life.
I seem to take so long to decide that when I do, never look back but I rotate all my watches daily.
That said, unless you will not be wearing any watch, I would keep them. If Platona will get all wrist time, trade.

I agree, keep either YG. Maybe keep the SS Subc too.

We have similar tastes and watches, but luckily the Platona was too heavy for me.

I would turn the SS Sub and YM to avoid losing the YG Sub.

If you want a SS piece later they are much easier to obtain than PM. Even if you add a SS piece later you are still one short of where you are now... So you can still look at yourself in the mirror and know you still "made room" :)

honestly that IS what I did. I had a YG sub a YG GMT green face a YG Daytona and YG YMII

once I saw and tried on the Platona it was my MUST have. and really made me loose interest in a lot of other PM models. and once wearing the Platinum watch, I slowly lost interest in YG.
the Platinum metal, the look the feel, kinda killed a lot of my desire for most other PM metals, however have held on to the WG GMT and Sub

so for me I would do it. for you, do you want to loose all your YG? that is a big move, but worked well for me, and YES the Platona to me would be worth moving anything you had too, cause once yea get it you may loose interest in wearing anything else! so be careful!!

agree with this.

let me edit myself actually.

for the relatively low cost of the 114060, I would keep that one in case I wanted to wear something not quite so "heavy".

I would wait.

First of all it's part of the pleasure.

Second i don't flip. I buy to keep. Every watch is special.

This has been my philosophy. The only watch I've ever traded was my 16613LB for a 116613LB. The upgraded bracelet and ceramic bezel were well worth it. I am also on the verge of plunking down a lot of cash for a Platona and have zero intention of selling anything to get it.

i would do that. you will still a sub, DD, daytona and YM after. the only think i would think is down the road you add a blnr.

alternatively you can dump 1 of those two and get the blro.

In my opinion, it doesn't make much sense to have PM watches hanging around if you don't want them/wear them anymore. I'm sure they were purchased for a reason, but that reason might not be valid anymore. I vote to trade the YG pieces.
