Breaking News!
That little pocket on your Levi's or Wrangler or any other pair of jeans was designed for, wait for it, a pocket watch!
This little tidbit of information is provided by Newsy. I'm sure we all know this and I would have presumed that even in the 21st Century most people would be able to deduce this from a sense of history and common sense, but evidently that's not so. This was the topic of an internet debate and Levi Strauss finally intervened to clear up the mystery. I guess I'm really getting old, but pocket watches are in fact still sold and presumably because some people still use them. Anyway, here's a video of mystery pocket debate and how it was resolved. http://my.xfinity.com/video/what-s-t...sf_jeanspocket

Cool.
I had been told when I was younger and believed it, that it was a key pocket. Never really made sense. Thanks for the link and knowledge.

Since they are Jeans and not dressy apparel, I would have guessed the pocket was for spare change.
And I always thought that I had common sense. |

Seems small for a pocket watch. I thought that's why they invented denim waistcoats
