Love it!! What a great watch - I'm a huge fan of the 643.

First impressions? How did the 643 win out over the 292 for you?

Thanks Drew. I imagine one of your green canvas straps would compliment both the case and the dial very good. If you are taking names, put me on the list.

The hobnail, raised indices and base. For some reason I like rads better in base and 44mm luminors with seconds. Just looks more appealing to me with the crown guard. When you move up to 47mm luminors, it doesn't seem to bother me, but I can't pull those off.

I never tried it on the 643 before I purchased but I did hold in my hand. Case dimensions are exactly like the 210 so figured can't lose. I really miss my 210 even though I have the more stunning 232. The 232 is perfection, but IMHO you are limited to certain straps and styles because of the case size and dial color. The 643 seems to go with EVERY strap color and style. I wish Panerai would do more in the 45mm Radiomir range. I like watches styled like the 141 and 163 with those raised indices. There are plenty of sandwich dials out there. Also, I wanted this one new for some reason. This watch got me excited. I know some will call me crazy but the 5711 didn't get me this excited, not even the 116619. Don't get me wrong, both stunning, but bottom line, I love he Radiomir case when thin.

This all makes perfect sense to me. Very psyched for you. Cool to hear about the flexibly when it comes to straps.

It's such a great watch! If and when another Panerai comes my way, this is the one. I think it'll be the perfect complement to my 164, with the 3/6/9/12, Rad case, manual, ceramic, wire lugs, hobnail dial, raised indices.... So many great elements.

Phil, I'm a closet case Paneristi. Everyone says the brand is dying, used, tired, etc. I still love 'em. I'm not listening to anyone anymore and just buying what I like (hopefully at a fair price!)
