Thanks everyone. This is my first Panerai. I just wound it. This part is going to take some getting used to. I gave it a couple turns yesterday and set it and put it on. I checked the time a couple hours later and I don't think the minute hand had even moved. This is the model the AD salesman was wearing when I was in recently and I really liked it on him. He gave me their catalogue and I looked at all the Luminors. There were a couple 1950's DavidSW had awhile back I debated. The choices felt overwhelming and I got distracted with other options. I saw he had this one this weekend and jumped on it. I can see how these become really addicting. They are so unique. In spite of the early ties to Rolex they don't have anything in their lineup currently that compares to a Panerai.

Congrats. It is a manual wind and it will take quite a few turns to keep it charged up. The crown guard gets in the way of a full and easy wind as well. It is worth it in the end.

That plus the wrist hair. Sorry I gave TMI. I really like it. I put it on the rubber strap but now I need to get some nice replacement straps. What size strap should I be looking for?

Congrats!
Don't wind the watch when it's on your wrist, you put sideway force on the stem which can cause it to snap. |
