Watches on The people vs OJ

So im watching the 10 part series The people vs OJ.

Ive noticed that Robert Shaperio's character played by john travolta in the show is wearing a RG Daytona ceramic on a strap. I think its funny as the show is taking place around 1994. They didn't have that watch back then wondering what the thought process of having him wear that watch over another watch that was more accurate for that time period.

Did anyone else notice this?

It happens a lot in the movies it just so happens that we catch these things...I noticed the same thing on a movie I watched that was supposed to be set in 1958 yet the main character was playing a guitar that wasn't produced until 1962.....I'm sure 99% of people watching didn't catch it

nice catch... what that really says is travolta is not a wis or even a watch guy because even as a breitling ambassador, he should know a vintage rolex from a modern rolex and raised this little issue with the production team.

The Daytona Ceramic was the only watch I noticed in the OJ show. This happens all the time in movies and TV. The watches are usually just "props" too if you know what I mean.

I thought Rolex doesn't allow use of props in movies. If you want to use their product it must be real no?

I couldn't give you a definitive answer, except we've seen many examples posted on here that most would agree are not real.

I caught that too.

Interesting also because Rob is a huge AP collector.

That doesn't make any sense. Why could you not wear a Rolex in a movie?

I noticed this too and thought it funny Travolta was wearing a Rolex when he is paid by Breitling : )
If I remember correctly he is listed as a producer as well.....so I'm sure he could of had some pull to wear a Breitling if he had wanted too? Or what Shapiro a big Rolex guy in real life?
