Time is flying...
A little too fast. It appears my new (to me) 50th anniversary Sub is running fast...about 10 seconds and gaining.
Twice now I have set it exactly to coincide with my cell phone only to wake up and have it be about 10-15 seconds fast. Not really a big issue, but can I assume that this means she is going to need servicing? Also, in reading another post, someone mentioned that you should leave the watch face down when not in use? I have been leaving it on its side...any truth in this? |

It came from Crown And Caliber....they say they service them...guessing that's not a Rolex service.

You could ask for a quick adjustment.

Likely a good guess. When I buy pre owned I normally expect to have to service it. If not it's a bonus.

That's about what I figured. I am going to let it go until next year and then send it in unless you guys think that could cause any kind of damage.

You can't just base the time off your phone in my experience. Try time.gov 10 seconds is not unreasonable if it doesn't escalate.
Congrats on the watch. |

Put it on a timing machine. If the amplitude and beat error are good, you're fine with an adjustment. Personally I think 10sec is ok.

I would keep an eye on it and if it escalates I would have it looked at

Use watchville app or time.gov.....cell phone updates via cell tower periodically so not exact all the time.

I agree with the others on your reference time. You need to use time.gov or greenwich meantime clock, Navy clock etc. to set it. Your phone is not accurate enough.

Well, it seems that it is fast and speeding up...it's now several minutes fast. As I said before, I can live with it for a while.
What is the current rate for servicing a Sub? If I were to decide to have the bezel replaced (some scratches and I think the pearl is cracked) any idea what that would run? |
