broken tag

i got a tag kirium series stainless steel (wl-1114) watch few years ago as a gift. the top link fell off recently and i lost the half without the pins. the authorized tag service centre said it could not be fixed without total bracelet replacment.

has anybody had this problem with their tag. and ideas how to fix it without having the need a for a new braclet. if this is a common thing they should have the parts and if its no common its a defect?

Mm that's a tough one but they should be able to just remove the link and ad another or it seems like the link taht folows it is the same width so put that in the place so shortening the bracelet and order a link that can be used to lenghten the bracelet at the clasp side and it should be fine. I say that can be done as I've see it done with the links on Rolex bracelets as well it probably just requires some special tools.
I would try to find someone that is a real watch maker and not a tag dealer and see what they come up with. Knowing that the price for a complete bracelet can't be cheap you might be better of getting a complete used watch to replace it or just swap the bracelets.

the second link is slightly narrower would be hardly noticible. do you know where i can buy links?
sorry about the pic i'm new at forums. they wanted 960$ candian for a new bracelet and labor.

Hard to say where you would be able to get a link I'm afraid. The normal place would be the Tag dealer as I can imagine there will be people that need a link if they have big wrists(I'm talking about the end links near thre clasp). You might also try to look on e-bay or something ar put ads out on as many forums as you can and maybe find someone that has a broken (quartz) Kirium or something so you can fix yours up. But I probably would try finding a shop/guy that can help you in the first place with removing the link that is broken now and puting the next link in line at that place.

or would anybody know if a there are generic , bands , strpas, braclet that would fit ona kirium.

I've got the identical watch. I do not think it would look good with another band on it since the band looks like it was built with the watch as one piece. I think if you send it to a RGM in Lancaster, Pennsylvania they can restore the band for you. They specialize in restorations. You can contact them at www.rgmwatches.com

i will try them, every tag repair shop i have contacted says it needs a new bracelet though. i haven't gotten a response from tag head office yet as to why replacment parts are not available.

Yes, my 4000 series had the exact same issue.

The end links would just fall off.


It required a complete bracelet replacement. Luckily, they're not uber expensive.

with a few faxes here and a few faxes there a package appeared on my porch today containing a replacement link whether its new or refurbished or used it was free and my watch is whole again.

thanks for everybody's help, the broken watch was kinda of a blessing i told the wife i needed a new one. a



the only thing i am upset about is if they had access to links from the start why not make that an optio rather than a full bracelet.
