Need advice: Choosing a ring to go with watch
Hello all. Long time reader, first time poster. I have something of an unusual question, so forgive me if this is the wrong sub forum. I'd like some advice on choosing a class ring.
I have two watches that I wear, an 116613LB, and a 16610. I wear the 16610 to work because the Nato strap is more convenient for what I do. This question sounds ridiculous when I think about asking it, but does anyone have any advice to share about which metal would be a better choice, considering the two watches? The natural gold ring seems really bright, but the antiqued gold ring seems really dark. My concern is that the natural gold ring with the two-tone will be too flashy. However, I'm also afraid that the dark, antiqued gold will look weird with the bright blue and gold. I'm thinking that the white gold might be the best option, since it works with both the two-tone and the stainless subs. However, I've never been a fan of white gold. Yellow gold has always been my preference, and in fact the saleswoman suggested the natural yellow to me on account of my skin tone. I'm sure this sounds like a serious case of first world problems, but the ordering deadline is tomorrow, and I don't feel comfortable asking my friends or classmates this question. We're all watch people here, though, so I thought you folks might understand. Thanks for any help. |

White gold or platinum, can't go wrong with either one!

I'd go with the ring finger one. It's classic. But with the watches you have, maybe the white gold will be best. My college ring is like the dark gold and I wear it with my TT and SS.
You guys have a better football team than my college, but our football team has a higher SAT score. ha (Rice University)

White gold will go with both your watches. Just stick with white metals.

If it makes you feel better, I purchased a stainless wedding band to wear because all of my daily watches are stainless. I would go white gold.

I put my platinum wedding band away and replaced it with a tungsten carbide ring I picked up on Amazon for less than $50. The only problem is having to take it off when putting on or taking off a watch to prevent dings.

Which part? I am an e-commerce consultant by day and I own a commercial cleaning business so I have to buff and polish floors at night once in a while. Tungsten doesn't scratch, ding or dent.
For that same reason I take it off before sliding a watch on/or off the wrist as I've put some decent dings on them with the ring before. And also because I can? Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

Buy the ring you like regardless of the watches. None go perfectly and none clash horribly. That said if it were my decision I'd choose the one in your ring finger. Black matches everything.

YG or WG...no diamond.
My dental school ring is yellow gold and my wedding band is two tone, but none of my watches are YG...I don't think they clash at all. |

Forget the ring and put the cash you would have spent on it towards a slick dj. $0.02 😊

I would go with the white metal then the gold and black looking one. The yellow gold would be my last choice.

LOL I am no ring expert (only wear my white gold wedding band) but man those are some eccentric rings no wonder why I never got my class ring so flashy.
Do people wear their class rings or just get them more for display and for memories?? Serious question. To me it seems like wearing a super bowl ring all the time. |
