Canadian price increase

I know they have said that the price increase will be anywhere from 5 to 10%.
Does anyone have a definite idea what it really will be and whether or not they plan on increasing discounts to play with the Canadian dollars depending on whether or not it increases in value in the next few months. Or would it be better just to buy new piece we need arrives to your local AD not bother waiting

Dude you have some serious grammar issues. I can hardly understand what you are asking. Also, try using question marks. It has been widely speculated that their could be a price increase in Canada this year. Nobody knows when / if this increase will happen except rolex...

There are quite a few threads with regards the to price increase discussion. Seems the latest confirmed date from some of the reputable members here is April 1st now. I would continue to follow the already established threads here to get your fill on the latest rumors.

@japenney - pretty smug remarks re:grammar. Being on the forum as long as you've been, stuff like that shouldn't surprise you. It's very possible English is not OP's first language.

Agreed. OPs post was not egregious enough to deserve such criticism.

Regardless, it's a waiting game. Usually the rumors come true.

Sorry OP. Hard day. There are many rumors so there will probably be a price increase in Canada this year. As to when, only Rolex knows.

As certain as death and taxes, its only a matter of time; Europe had an increase in February.

Dollar or no dollar, year after year nobody tells Rolex what, when and how. Regardless of price they are selling by the load, if its too much for one there is always another.

I can confirm there will NOT be a price DEcrease.

Seriously, all signs point to an impending increase. Only Rolex knows when.

I just visited Raffi yesterday at Yorkdale and was disappointed with their inventory. Virtually NO professional models in stock, save for one seadweller and WG Pepsi.

I was told that with the upcoming price increase in April, that most of their stock has been sold out.

No one outside of Rolex corporate knows anything. Although these constant price threads are a great source of laughter in an otherwise increasingly dull forum.

If you want a watch buy it, if you don't want it then don't.

Simple.

No, there will be no price price increase in Canada.
It would be a stupid move by Rolex to charge $10,000CAD for a sub date

Yeah, that would be really stupid - that extra $250 would be a deal-breaker for everyone, I'm sure.

You do know that the list price on a Sub date for the past year was/is $9,750? The Sub date LV was/is $10,350? And Rolex Canada ADs have been selling every one they can get in stock, usually for at MSRP?

Prices will most likely increase. When I first started looking at purchasing a BLNR they were retailing for 9750.00 canadian. Roughly a year later I paid 10,200 for one from an AD.

Demand is strong because Americans including myself are buying them left and right because of currency arbitrage, not Canadians
Last few weeks CAD strenthened 20% vs 10 yr low, now its not economical

Bottom line is, there will be no price increase

I've been reading the forum for several years and the terrible grammar is no surprise and generally doesn't bother me...

BUT @japenney if you are going to nail someone for his/her 'terrible grammar' I would make sure that my spelling is correct...

"...widely speculated that their could be a price increase in..."

Good try though

You missed the point - you said it would be stupid for Rolex Canada to charge $10K for a sub date, I pointed out that Rolex Canada has already been charging $10K (+/- $250) for a year. How stupid would it be when it's been happening for a year and they are selling every single one and have waiting lists?

Please come back to this thread in 8 days and tell us how you were right... Or to acknowledge how you didn't have a clue about a price increase, just like you didn't have a clue about $10K Sub date pricing in Canada.

All this bickering is starting to make the thread interesting

If I am a betting man, there will be a price increase this year. Definitely when price list of new Basel products come out, if not before.

I think Ashley Jewellers in Hamilton may not be an official retailer anymore. Noticed all their Rolex signs have been removed. Still have a lot of inventory on display. Anyone heard? Might be some deals if they are selling off inventory. Had some subs and GMT's.
Young sales girl acted like she knew nothing and I don't think she had a clue when I asked her as she did not even realise all the signs were missing

Who did we lose in Ottawa? I haven't heard anything. Is it Jubilee? I noticed they have practically no inventory right now.
