Mk I White Dial for 1680
OK so I've been looking for eiher a Mk VI red or Mk I white dial for a while now. (If anyone has one, please reach out!)
In any event, I found a very clean Mk I white on eBayne of my existence and it looks very nice with the exception of the lume application. It is explained as "Original and untouched" which I do believe with regards to the dial itself and printing. There is evidence of it being installed in a watch (some hash marks have rehaut marks) but no chipping. Not what is often advertised as a "reprint" although I have never seen a "reprint" Mk I white dial... Overall it is good, but the "fuzzy" lume printing has me wondering. It is also quite white but that is not as much of a concern (assuming it is original) since the service tritium hands I have are also quite white. Now I ask this question rather than simply dismiss it like so many other dials I come across (not that I've seen a lot of Mk I's at all) because when I look at my example photo (posted below with the deeper color plots) I can see the lume printing is also a bit 'less than perfect'. So, bottom line is, if you have (or had) a Mk I white dial 1680, can you please comment on the way the lume plots are printed? Would you say Yay or Nay to the whiter plot dial posted? Much appreciated gents (and any ladies who care to comment)! |
