Sell Diver and DSSD to fund one ROO
I've recently been bitten by the AP bug, I currently have a diver and a rolex dssd. What are your thought on selling both to fund a SS ROO grey or blue dial, or Forged Carbon Diver. I have a couple of decent beaters (breitling, oris and ball). I don't get to wear a watch at work much, so nights and weekend are my only "nice watch" time. I would think letting both go, should bring me a little cash plus one great watch. Opinions valued.

Hi,
Is the ROO another diver or do you mean the RO? I suggest just let go of one(perhaps the diver) to maintain some variety by keeping the Rolex. I'd rather trade one plus cash out of pocket unless I was going after a Grail piece.

ROO as in Royal Oak OFFSHORE (Chrono)
I assume by Grey or Blue he means (new 2014 SIHH) "Elephant" or New style "Navy" w Orange accents! And YES, Sell both those watches for a ROO Chrono with WAY MORE Character than any Diver, unless you get FC Diver which is also a pretty nice choice! Enjoy your new watch! Remember: Quality over Quantity! (Finally, as another member here put it: "Sent from the 3-4 Watches Philosophy company headquarters") ;) |

I would do it but spend a bit more and bump up to 44mm to get the nicer pushers and ceramic bezel IMO

If you feel you're "done" with the Diver then yes!
The 42mm chronos will wear similar to the Diver If you have spare cash I would also try on a 44mm Novelty pcs as well...mmmmm so sweet |

If you really want the ROO, then go for it. You're not going to stop until you get it anyway ;)
I have the grey one and love it. Good luck |

I personally feel like my ROO 42mm is perfect for me and if anything slightly too big. I think the 44mm might look crazy on my wrist. I do absolutely love that watch though. What's the price jump from my ROO 42mm Grey Themes to the 44mm ROO chrono w/Ceramic bezel? Here's a couple pics cause why not ;)? |

I would keep the ones you have, the Diver is much nicer than the ROO chronos.... IMHO...

Well that's what I thought but trying it for 10 minutes in a shop it felt fine, min fact when I put back my diver it felt too small, I have 6.9 wrists and pretty flat so not very big but not too small, and the 44 is ok, first time when I put one on the full ceramic it seems huge I took it off right away, but I had been wearing only my 2 nautilus for many months, so at that point even the diver seemed huge, it's just for a big part a matter of perception though sometimes it is ridiculous, IMHO no insult intended to those who do, when a guy with 6 inch wrists wants to wear a 44...

Hahahaha yeah I get you anyways the 42 is a great watch as well, thought for some time adding a 44 but I have no need for a chrono and the one I really like is the RG and it's a little too much and can bring a little unwanted attention, plus I really love my ceramic diver so don't want to sell it, which I would probably do since if you have a 44 the 42 looks too small, was amazed to what point after wearing 10 minutes the 44 in SS, about either upgrading or getting something else more expensive you'll get there some day, never thought I would one day have a 35K Patek and a 29K one at the same time, flipped both since and now am only wearing the ceramic diver, have a Blancpain, omega and Pam as well but never wear them and they're on sal but for 8 months so probably might get the Blancpain back to wear it from time to time when I go to Paris in 6 days, I bought it the same month as I did the PP 5726 and the RG Daytona so never really wore it, will get it back and we'll see, I have a potential client in Odessa for it, if he doesn't take it I'll just wear it when I want a little change

I'd keep the DSSD, sell the Diver, add cash and buy a ROO 42mm Chrono

If neither piece is singing to you anymore, make a change.

If you are tired of the Diver and the DSSD or you simply don't wear them any longer for whatever reason, then do it. Otherwise, I would not get rid of two nice watches for one other nice watch.

I sold some other pieces to get the new ROO 42 Black Theme. A perfect piece that goes well with business, leisure and sports. The big benefit over the 44 is that you can have the bracelet on the 42. -> Big Plus!

I would not. DSSD + Diver is a cool combo. Stepping up to a 44 is a different story.

I'm probably the only one, but I would consider selling both for the forged carbon diver. I really like the lightness of that watch. Others prefer weight on their wrist. To each his own...
