AP RO vs ROC
I have wanted an AP for a long time (years) and will be in position to buy in the next month or 2, but I am starting to think maybe I should just wait and get the ROC vs getting an RO now... or maybe just get both
So my question to you TRF would it be stupid to have both? Does anyone have both? Do you find you wear one much more than the other? My current collection is SUB, Daytona, and Speedy Pro

If you have the cheddar for both, why not?
Personally I wouldn't be able to afford the luxury of both. Knowing myself too, even if I had the money, I would end up favoring one over the other (probably the ROC). Which inevitably means one gets benched, which I would hate regardless of how much the item is worth. |

am assuming you are considering both in SS with bracelet?
i would personally favour the ROC too unless one was in gold and/or on a leather strap i which case i could justify owning both

ROC would be my choice of the extra money is no issue. Any interest in stepping up to the 42mm ROO chrono?

I have not thought about the ROO, I tried one on a few months ago and it felt huge.

I would either take a Ro and Roo chrono, or Roc and Roo diver, or a nautilus and a Ro or roc, but certainly not ro and roc, but that's just my experience, i learned the hard way that having 9 watches was not for me, i only wore my 2 favorites and never the others, so best to get what you really love the most and think it well, i love nautilus watches and had the 5712, wanting a new watch i got the 5726, but i preferred way more the first and wore very rarely the other, some have many watches and can do a rotation, i cant, i need to have 2-3 watches i really love and that's it, depends on you, but as i understand you won't have a big collection so in that case diversity is king, a ro and roo is a good solution, but ro and roc is a no go for me.
Good luck deciding |

It takes a very small time to get used to it, first time i tried a 44mm roo i was wearing for a long time a 40mm nautilus ultra thin, it seemed huge to me, second time i tried one i was wearing for a certain time a 42mm diver, the 44 seemed fine, if you have 6.5 wrists or more, you can do 44 so 42 is not a problem

The others would sit around and eventually I'd sell them just cause I don't like to have redundancies and items lying around. |

100% agree I don't want to have something I don't wear... I do a fairly good job now although I don't wear the speedy as much as it deserves.

By RO do you mean 15202 or 15400?

Presuming you can afford both, unless the ROC was one of the limited models like Tribute To Italy or Leo Messi, I'd advocate going for a 15400/15202 and VC Overseas 49150 (Deep Stream on bracelet) pairing.

I had both 15202 and ROC panda. Both got a lot of wrist time but only the 15202 is left. The 15202 is more special, imo than the ROC.

I'd go with a boutique dialled ROC or Black dial.

I'd get the ROC only because I like the chronograph look.
If you can afford both and they'll get wrist time, by all means get them. The more the merrier. |

I went by the local AD again yesterday and tried them both on again... I really like how simple the 15400 looks, and I don't have a 3 hand with a date so it would fill a "hole" in the line up....
I just really love the ROC as well... I blame Ari Gold still no idea what I am going to do, but I am leaning towards waiting and getting the ROC

If I was going to go the Royal Oak route --- it would be the 15202 (jumbo) hands down...classic
...or the ROC --- you cant go 'wrong' with either...I would DEFINITELY recommend trying them all on if possible --- as they all wear ever so slightly different. Good luck!! |

I'd go with the chrono --- I LOVE the ROC --- wore mine (39mm) daily for quite some time.... |
