You just used audemars piguet and Walmart in the same post. Those brands/companies are mutually exclusive. Wear the watch and enjoy it and don't worry about scratches until you send it in for service. For a few hundred $$$ it will look like new. Heck...even enjoy it at Walmart knowing you're probably the only one in the store wearing one.

My advice is to leave it alone and enjoy the watch until the next service (polish) by APSC.

Walmart might stock what you need. Once a week put the watch in a vise and use one of these:
The best solution for annoying scratches is to get a few more. No, there is nothing you can buy that will take out scratches regularly that will not spoil the watch, except to be refinished by an expert at service intervals. And even that, while probably not in your lifetime, has its limits.

Really, you don't think tightening an AP in a vise and attacking it with a power grinder is a good weekly maintenance ritual?
Wow, it's stunning even one person read that and took it seriously, but for the record - DON'T DO IT!

I've managed to keep my bezel clean. But I bought a bracelet for my diver. The AD jeweller out two little scratches on the same side of the case using his screwdriver. : (. Nothing on the bracelet itself during a few sizing options. Luckily I'll be at APSC on Wednesday. If they can take it out same day then I'll touch that up but other than that barring crazy damage you gotta leave it. Just my 2 cents. I suppose it depends where the scratches are too.

Maybe a touch of cape cod on a slight polished scratch but nothing on the brush.

I was wondering if this post was a joke of some sort?

I cleaned out a light scratch on the bezel of my diver by using a very small piece of Scotch brite and a toothpick. It not 100% But can't be happier.

You're best to leave it be and have it polished via AP when sent in for service.
Wear and enjoy! |
