AP ROC advice
Would you buy an AP watch serviced and polished by an unauthorized watch dealer? I am looking to buy a AP ROC 26300 silver dial (39mm). I found one for $13K, but it doesn't come with box/papers. AND its been serviced/polished by this watch guy himself, and that makes me hesitate to pull the trigger. Am I thinking too much?

If you see an AP thats not serviced by them I would only consider it if was really, really cheap. When you do service it with AP they will charge you a fortune to put everything right so you need to remember that whenever buying pre owned.
I mean, look at the hex screws on this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/audemars-p...EAAOSwT~9Wl3qc Fully refurbished by who?

Go with your gut, plus no box or papers. Spend your 13k elsewhere.
Thanks, Everett AP 15710 Diver Sent from my iPhone |

I would especially not buy that watch from anyone that did their own polish job. The RO has a very specific pattern in the polish and I wouldn't trust anyone but AP to get it right.

Thanks you all. Thanks for making the decision for me :) Agree unauthorized servicing and polishing is a ref flag.
On another note, how much do you guys think I should budget for a pre-owned AP ROC 39mm in white with box and papers? And where should I be looking? |

As others have said before, papers help you establish provenance. Why gamble with your 13K? Keep searching for the right one.

I paid around $11,500 for my white face 25860 50xxx F series last year that came with a box but no papers with the intent that I was going to send it to APSC for a service. Figured all in I would essentially get a brand new ROC for $13K at that point with service papers. I hope this helps!
