Rolex Viceroy ?
Hi guys, anyone seen or know of these versions of the Viceroy. The silver case has the RWC Ltd stamp. It measure 30 x 30mm. Is it one of the many variations that Rolex put out or a franken concoction.
Thanks |

I guess not all Viceroys are Rolex! This looks like an early 20s watch. Definitely not Rolex, but cool nonetheless.

Interesting. Rolex registered the name Viceroy as a brand name in 1921, according to the Dowling and Hess book.

Then I do stand corrected!
I missed your comment about the inner case back stamp, undoubtedly.

Thanks all, it's just that on another forum it was suggested to me that because this is not in an Oyster case that it is a franken watch. To my eye it seemed to be a totally original watch but I have to admit, not having any Rolex names or marks on the movement, I did think it odd. I have an earlier silver cased Rolex trench watch c1914 which does have Rolex on the spring wheel. Also, I guess the fine rippled dial on this had the Rolex look about it too, so I had assumed it was another so called "poor mans Rolex" that seemed to be out there in the early years.
