Trouble owning no-date Rolex watches?
I LOVE the Daytona, Milgauss GV, and Explorer but I have way too much difficulty remembering the day of the month...and this is something I have to frequently remind myself of in my occupation! Has anyone else encountered this road block during their watch collection escapades ?

Honestly the only time I really need the date is when I am at the bank filling out a deposit slip or the likes. Other than that I'm fine.

You can always yell out, "hey Siri, what's the date" and hope you get an answer
My current watches all have the date but a manual no date is on the radar and if the watch is missing the info I need (like what day it is, the weather, etc.), it's pull out the iDevice time. |

I much prefer a date so those in my barn without get much less wrist time. The exception would be a dress watch that for me is worn primarily in the evening when the date is not that often needed. That said, if I needed the date and didn't have it on my wrist I would look at my phone.

no date for me is preferable but the collection is split,
NO DATE: •Sub •Patek chrono DATE: •Tudor date/day •Explorer II: my traveling watch imho by necessity must have a date so i don't miss my flight:)

so far no troubles with any watches without a date. I prefer cleaner dial.
Actually used to hate the date cyclops but starting to like it a bit more now.. |

I have a Tudor BBBlue. On the days I wear it, I just look at the date on my phone in the morning and force myself to remember it. If I forget, I briefly look at my phone. Between all the computers and other items with the date in my life, not a huge problem. On my GMTs and 116613, having the date at a glance is very nice but also an inconvenience in months with 30 days. In the end, no date makes no difference to me.

Not having the date on my watch has never been a problem.
It's nice to have a watch with the date, but it's not essential and it's definitely not a deal breaker.

I bought a Tudor Heritage Ranger for the fantastic readability of the dial without my reading glasses. Mission accomplished. But I tried to wear it as a work watch and was constantly turning my wrist to find the date. It was never there. 30 years of habit was hard to break. I also just grew tired of the watch and flipped it towards a GMT.
Now I find myself trying to rationalize the new Explorer. I really like the changes, but no date of course. Maybe I don't wear it to work, use it as a weekend watch or after work watch when I don't need to know the date. Yes I can look at my phone, but if that were my habit I wouldn't need a watch in the first place and I could save a whole lot of money! The new DJ41 will be my next work watch when it is available in SS. |

I own more non-dates than I do watches with dates. Nice feature, helpful even, but not essential... The watches I like tend to not have dates on them...

my eyesight is failing me and I need reading glasses to see the date. So, no date watches kinda makes sense to me. And I have three no date watches to date.

I wake up each morning and see the date on my telephone and television. Even though I am 67 years of age, my brain is sufficiently attuned to remember the date for the rest of the day. I can remember my name and my wife's name etc, so it is no big deal trying to remember the date. Regards Mick |

I also find it sad when people at work ask the date for charting and I look at my watch on instinct and see no date. I guess when I can help others using my watch it makes me appreciate it more :). I think the solution is to wear a watch with no date in the evenings and for dress...but as a daily driver I think my watch needs to have a date for me !

I find I need the date having worn a no-date exclusively for 7 months. Swapped a 16660 for a 14060 so I can get the date.

Hi,
I was worried I might have problems when I bought my time-only Cellini many years ago, but I found I just adapted to always looking at the date on the computer (I was using one the whole time at work anyway, so it wasn't that big a deal), or in more recent years by looking at the lock screen on my iPhone or iPad. In fact, all my watches now are time-only: the aforementioned Cellini, a Reverso Classique, and my most recent acquisition, an Oyster Perpeutal. |

What if you stay out past midnight? Does it change automatically or do you have to rub it off and change the numbers?

I've been 4 years without a date and still miss it. Honestly don't think I'll ever get used to not having it. I often sign and date stuff, and find it really awkward not knowing the date and having to check the phone. Problem is that I haven't seen a replacement that I like enough, and I don't like magnifying lenses stuck onto a watch, though the GMT-II is beginning to grow on me.

A 42mm Daytona date and Rolex increases revenue by 15%

I need to present the reports and/or approve the documents with the date issued quite a few times in a week during the work. So wearing the watch with the date function is very useful and make me feel comfortable especially when I am busy with more than one urgent task, although there are many other ways to get it.
