Daytona Deployment Clasp Question
I have just purchased a 2015 18k Daytona PN Dial Alligator strap, my question is the deployment clasp is smaller and lighter gage gold than my 18k GMT II bracelet clasp, are all the Daytona deployment clasp a lighter gage and smaller than the 18k GMT bracelet clasp?

It should be the same Easylink clasp in 18k.

.
not if you compare Gmt2 on Oyster and Daytona on leather strap. Clasp are different. |

Thanks for posting about the RG version as it seemed thick to me on the 2016 Daytona yet had no other gold variant metal to compare.

Thank you for the response, would you mind elaborating a bit on the "RG" Daytona, why only the Rose Gold with the heavy clasp?

Thank you, however, do you know why the RG gets the bolder clasp?

So all 2016> Daytonas YG/WG and RG have the new updated heavy clasp, mine being 2015, so I missed it by a year?

The 116515 and 116655 clasps are slightly different, the OysterFlex as found on the 116655 uses a clasp similar to the bracelet models. Annoying as I'm not a fan of the clasp mounting on the 116655 and would of preferred it to be like the 116515 |

New clasp (identical to Gmt2-C clasp) is present on RG/YG/WG Daytona since 2008. But we talk about Daytona on Oyster bracelet (116505/116528/116509). Yours is (from your description) a 116518 on leather strap , and didn't got the "new" clasp until it was discontinued in 2015. |

.
Regarding "Leather" Daytona 116518 , Rolex offers (offered) 2 size of clasp depending if it's for a women (Dame in French) or a man (Homme). Maybe you got the women (D) version. . |

YG/WG strap models never got the updated clasp unfortunately. At least you have the latest Rolex offered before discontinuing these beautiful watches

Here's a few pics of the 2016 Everose clasp for the 116515. Hope this helps.

Thanks for posting SC11 and it is interesting how the 116655 has a larger center 'notch' for the band and it sticks out a bit from the deployant clasp whereas the 116515 has a 2mm notch and stays hidden behind the clasp.

They never updated the Daytona with strap besides the RG w ceramic. The rest feels thinner because it was the older style. Pretty much like the older Gmt , DJ or sub etc the clasp is thinner style.
