I apologize if this has already been covered or is redundant; is Rolex discontinuing the classic 116520 SS Daytona with the newer models coming out?

From what I've heard. Rolex ceased production of the 116520 upon announcement of the new cerachrom Daytona.

I think he means there have been other Daytonas over a few decades which are all classics, not just the 116520.
