Bought it!! My first VINTAGE!!
Pulled the trigger and bought my first vintage Rolex. Its a 1680 Red Submariner with a Mark VI dial. The case is pretty thick, with all the edges very outlined. The serial is 3.7xx and it comes with the correct 9315 bracelet.
Thanks for the advices and a special thanks to my good friend JFESTRELABR, who helped me with this acquisition. I promise to upload some better pictures later.

Congrats. Now the trick will be to limiting yourself to just one vintage purchase.

Can someone explain why the crystals are so thick on a vintage sub compared to a modern day sub?

Not necessarily thick, but domed. Plexiglass VS sapphire.
