Why doesn't the GMT IIC have a gold crown?
References more and less expensive have white gold or yellow gold crown on the dial at twelve o'clock, why not the GMT IIC?
I assume there is a legacy reason, the cost couldn't be material given the other details of the watch. |

Probably wouldn't look right with the GMT in green and the 2nd time zone hand in green. I think ascetically it is more pleasing as it is.

Some of the 1675/3 and 16753s did. And the solid gold models going way back.
I like applied coronets myself

Why doesn't the GMT IIC have a gold crown?
Sports models with an inverted triangle have painted coronets. And in modern ones, they are white.
I think the new Air-King is the first I've seen with gold colored paint. It also has green lettering that could be great with the GMT C. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
