Why doesn't the GMT IIC have a gold crown?

References more and less expensive have white gold or yellow gold crown on the dial at twelve o'clock, why not the GMT IIC?

I assume there is a legacy reason, the cost couldn't be material given the other details of the watch.

Probably wouldn't look right with the GMT in green and the 2nd time zone hand in green. I think ascetically it is more pleasing as it is.

Some of the 1675/3 and 16753s did. And the solid gold models going way back.

I like applied coronets myself

Why doesn't the GMT IIC have a gold crown?

Sports models with an inverted triangle have painted coronets. And in modern ones, they are white.
I think the new Air-King is the first I've seen with gold colored paint. It also has green lettering that could be great with the GMT C.
