Day-Date 18038 problem

I noticed when I went to set the day and date on my 18038 today it would stop half way between the day and date would go blank and then go back to the way it should the more i turned the crown to set the day. Any ideas what's wrong?

The day wheel goes over the top of the date wheel. There are holes cut in it that show the date when the day is centered in the window. The day wheel is not snapping.

I will correct itself. Did you try it going full around clockwise 24 hours to see if both discs snapped at midnight?

There is a double jumper spring...sometimes the discs bind on each other or some foul up of the jump spring.

Try a full go round and see how it does. Do it in the slow set position...not the quickset.

When it hits midnight it snaps in place to be the way the picture above shows, when I spin it to be about 3 o'clock am it will show the day and date in full like it should. Is this a problem or something it should do as I have set it plenty of times and it never did that.

I have found that if I'm not wearing it regularly, the day of the week change sometimes gets thrown off (doesn't turn cleanly at midnight).

Then once I have been wearing it, I've noticed that it turns perfectly.
