How much markup would you pay for a Daytona C?
assuming you had a chance to get one above MSRP...
me, I think I will wait until I can get my hands on it at MSRP. I'm sure there are some on TRF willing to pay a bit of a markup to get one. |

I would never pay over the standard retail price for any product. Completely ridiculous notion.

I wouldn't pay a penny, but some people would...and good luck to them.
What you are missing is the all important question of timing...the premium is higher today than it will be next month....and next year...etc, etc.

Maybe the equivalent of sales tax in my state which is 6%, assuming that I was not paying sales tax.

Zip. Zero. None. I want one, and money is less valuable than time in certain respects...but this isn't one of those situations for me. I'm also not that guy camped out in front of apple waiting for the latest gadget either.

I'm surprised how many people here wouldn't pay over MSRP. For any product, I evaluate what the product is worth to me today versus how much the seller wants for it. If I'm content with the difference, I buy it.
I wager that if you placed a ceramic Daytona in front of many of those above who said they wouldn't pay MSRP and charged a penny over MSRP, you'd see a lot many more ceramic Daytonas posted around here and a lot of people happy they broke their rule and spent an extra penny. Just my two pennies. |

This, I'll wait 5 years and pay 30% under MSRP - some sucker will pay 5 grand over MSRP and in 5 years it will be worth half what he paid for it - that is when I will buy it and then when I sell it I won't loose anything. A fool and his money are soon parted - paying over MSRP to have it a few weeks/months sooner than when you can pay MSRP is a waste of money - your choice but still a waste of money.
