What do you think?
About 6 months or so ago I got my Day Date and I can't stop wearing it. I am 33 a stay at home dad with 3 children and a great wife. I want to know what my friends on this forum might think about such a situation. Most people are into sports models right now and I have 3 great ones (bluesy,BBB and a Tudor 79260p) but man this piece feels like nothing I have ever worn before. After I got the bracelet re-done it's almost as if I don't own any other watches. Is this common for someone who goes in to the full PM models? I just wore my bluesy for a couple days and put it back into the safe deposit box because it didn't feel right. Please let me know what you guys and gals think am I going crazy? Or what. I will attach a pic just for kicks.

I can't speak for EVERYONE but I've been afflicted by the PM bug for a while now. I much prefer wearing PM over steel now.

Agreed. I wore ss sports Rolexes and went to the AD planning to buy a Smurf; then I noticed a Day date 40 in white gold and that was that...the Smurf just looked a bit crude in comparison.
Wouldn't go back to a sports Rolex; feel I have 'been there, done that.' But you do have to wear a sports Rolex for some years first...... |

Seems a common and consistent syndrome among Platona owners too.

The watch looks great. When I got my first PM Rolex, a YG Daytona, I was the same way for almost 10 years. I wore my SS but the PM was the real draw for me. As time has passed I enjoy the SS as much as my PM watches but it is situational based on what I am doing. I would take your other watch out of the Safe Deposit box and keep it at home. Wear it and enjoy it. It is also a great watch.

Thank you all for your kind comments. I enjoy all my watches but like I said above they just don't have that pop and pow the DD has. As to my ring my wife calls it my Zelda ring. Lol! I Have a friend whose family has a jewelry store here local and I had them make this years ago. It is a 4.5ct spessertite garnet GIA certified. The ring is 18k and weighs in at 41.1grams. That puts it as close to 1oz of pure gold as I could get. I'm sure it is a shave lighter after years of wear. Anyway thanks for all the kind comments.

Looks good on you but personally I personally prefer SS vintage for myself. I too like the ring.

Solid advice. Buy a small home safe (if you don't currently own one) and store your other watches there, so you can just grab them and wear them during the week without the hassle of having to go to a bank (where I guess you have your safe deposit). Am pretty confident that by doing that they will get more wrist time. If not, then perhaps is time to flip them, unless you want to save them for your kids.

Wow! Very sharp looking indeed. Beautiful YG DD and YG ring. No wonder you never stop wearing the DD, with that ring making a Terrific YG combo.
And if I were in your shoes, I would rotate your other watches. They are also nice, even though they are just "SS". I have SS, TT, YG, and WG watches and love feeling and seeing the variations on my wrist. |

I went the other way. Had a YG Day Date but even though it was my Grail for several years, once I got it, I never connected to it.
