interesting concept for a change of pace/appearance. Rolex should consider offering a plain SS bezel that can take the place of the numerical one for those occasions.

Uh.... No. If you want a watch without a professional bezel there are plenty of very attractive models available. For example, the DJ II smooth bezel.
