Plan to buy both, but which one new?
Hey guys,
I am buying my first new rolex to have my name on tags to eventually pass down. I am planning to buy either a 116234 DJ or a 114060 Sub. It seems like the 114060 retains its value better and I could get the 116234 cheaper gently used. Please let's me know your thoughts and advice. Thank you! |

Now that you are a member here you might as well go ahead and buy both. It's inevitable.
If you plan on passing it down resale, or "holding its value" shouldn't factor in. Having said that the Subs tend to be a little more popular in here and I would have to say I prefer it personally. |

Sub gets my vote although I am biased as i bought one as my first Rolex! Both are great choices, good luck in making your decision .

Bought a 114060 as my first and it will forever be timeless and a classic. But like everyone said, you will inevitably buy another one...don't fight it

Sub is more versatile. Can be both an activity/casual/sports and dress watch.

See if the AD will give you a significant discount if you buy both from them, if not Sub new.
