Finally a Rolex owner! 14060 my Grail!

Today I received my Sub 14060.

In 1998 I was 20 years old. I had a great job and excellent credit and disposable income to a certain extent.

Long story short.... I had a then new 14060 on my wrist. I was so close to dropping the hammer and buying her.
My mom called me that night and needed serious financial help. After raising four kids alone she needed help with many things all at once. Car was bad. Fridge was bad. House was needing repairs. So I did all of those things.

Now nearly 20 years later I have my grail. I don't feel as though the Sub should have a date display. No offense to anyone who owns one. I myself love the 1680 but I love the 5512,5513 and 14060 more. I love the clean look of the Sub minus date. Its timeless and iconic. My wife said it's so strikingly beautiful in its simplicity. I must say that I agree.

On to the show! I got what I feel was an amazing deal. Inner and outer box , papers , and all.

I do need a couple of links though as I have rather large wrist.I like my watches loose. She isn't perfect but she is all mine.

Great story and good for you helping out your mother.
I too prefer the no date Subs.
Congratulations 🎉

Congrats! The minor wear just improves the look, and hopefully you won't be scared of your first hairline scratch. Wear it and enjoy!

Glad you got your watch, however the amazing part is how much you helped out your mom in her time of need, showed a lot of class and good character.
