Rolex Oyester Perpetual
Hi ! I have just joined this forum to share and take views from members about my brand new Rolex Oyester Perpetual Date Just, which i got as a wedding gift back in 2007. I used to wear it occasionally, one day I took it out of box, set the time and date, wore it but after few minutes I noticed it was not working. Can anyone one tell me what has happened to it?

It was completely run down. You need to give it a full 40 turns of the crown. You can't over wind it. Then see how long the power reserve is. If you don't wear it from a full wind you should expect 40/45 hours or so. If you wear it and are active while wearing it it should not wind down during the week.
So chances are it was not fully wound. |

If you have wound it and given it a bit of a shake and it doesn't start, look at the seconds hand and give it a gentle shake.. If the seconds hand moves slightly backwards the mainspring is likely broken.
