Thinking of getting an AP royal oak

I am thinking of getting my first AP, the royal oak 15400 in either blue or black. What are the pros and cons of getting an AP on the grey market or off websites like chrono24/ebay? I would appreciate any advice.

I'm thinking of getting an RO as well. When I'm ready to pull the trigger I'll stick with a trusted seller or from a well established member here on TRF. I haven't purchased through chrono24. I'll definitely stay away from eBay, my experience went 0/2 buying Rolex.

I got a ROO 15710ST from a Trusted Seller here on the forum (DavidSW); very happy with the purchase.

Do your research on the seller. That's the most important part of the transaction.

A cheap watch isn't the best choice.

No pros only cons. Buy from a reputable dealer here or on TZ or from an AP AD or boutique.

Buy the seller. I'd pick the blue dial, personally.

I've had great success with the trusted sellers on this forum and others.

Really? What happened with your two eBay Rolex purchases?

0/1 I purchased a 16710 from a popular online consignment store that was selling on eBay. Claimed the piece was 100% original. When I received the watch, the end links were mismatched. I had to ship it back in order for them to examine it. I opted for a refund.

0/2 I purchased a 116234 from a jeweler who claimed the watch had no dings, no dents, 100% flawless. I examined about 12 pictures and upon arrival, it had about a 1" gash on the flute bezel where it meets the case. Seller claims he didn't notice it when he examined the watch before selling. Returned. I have almost 100% success dealing with trf, so sticking with trf.
