Back from Sturgis and well rested!!!!

Hi all, well we made it back from the the Sturgis Bike Rally, traveled 2500 miles from Dallas, to home and some wonderful sight seeing in between.

The weather was nice and the hospitality was great everywhere I ventured.

As I promised to a few of you, I brought back a few pics, and to let everyone know, the girls made me promise to tell everyone on TRF hi.

John -

I heard it was not so well attended this year. How were the crowds? And, more importantly, what kind of scoot did you use to get down there?

I'd say it was down from last year. We saw very few bikes, or trailers headed there on our trip from Dallas. The rally has continuously gotten smaller since 2003. Less people is good though, as the lines for everything are smaller.

Rode the Road King up this year. Might be buying an '09, but I'll have to wait 'till next year for that.

Thanks all, it was fun and nice to get away for a while.

Steven, I made that call today, but he didn't call back. I'll try again Monday.

Great pics John Glad you had a good time and more importantly, a safe ride

Less people at a rally does make for a better time indeed. From what I hear one reason is the economy and another is people are going to Milwaukee for Harley's big 105th party in a few weeks. Those only happen once every five years. They can go to Sturgis every year.

John - I love a white RK - best looking color on that bike IMHO. Looking at your bike just settles it - in December, when HD offers all that free chrome with a purchase and prices are down, I'm getting me a new ride.

Dick, don't know if you heard, but Harley made a lot of changes to the baggers for '09. It has a whole new frame, a 180 rear tire, new wheels and more. Good luck with your shopping.

Nice pics. I haven't made it to Sturgis or Daytona. Went up to Milwaukee for the 90TH, and 100TH though. My next bike will probably be the police version of the RK.
