Adding "THIS" to my collection (your thoughts?)
I am planning on adding a RG YM 116655 to my collection possibly this week.
This watch has really grown on me trying it on several times at the local AD. I have been really wanting a rose or yellow gold Rolex to add to my collection that is not too overstated and still comfortable. This watch is very comfortable having tried on the perfect sizing at the AD. (The other contender was the YG GMT II and getting Rubber B straps to add versatility). How do you all think the RG YM fits in with my collection? |

How about a rose gold Daytona (116505)? Then you'd have the SS and PM versions of both the Sub and the Daytona. I also think the Daytona looks great in rose gold.

It sounds like you've made up your mind, and the YM will fit nicely in your line up. Having said that, a gmt complication would fall like a glove there too, and I personally prefer the 116718 to the YM. Good luck deciding!

It would fit in very nicely and adds a bit of metal color variety. I prefer the 718 Gmt as well. Good luck deciding

Get the GMT this way you can have the solid gold look if you ever want it and can wear it on the Rubber B if you want to make it a bit more understated. It seems awfully expensive to get the YM when there is no gold bracelet involved. You can pick up a nice pre owned ceramic gold GMT for about the same price.

Thanks for the feedback Arnold. I slightly like black better having tried both YG GMT colors.
BUT, I am kinda digging the new YG Daytona green for a casino night..LOL... Thanks Joe, I agree that it is different and also very attractive and comfortable Thanks for the feedback Tim, I would do RG and chocolate dial, if I ever did a Day-Date Presidential. I prefer the sports watches though, but 118238 is a very nice watch! Quote:
Always looking at other PM daytonas because there are so many to choose from, but none have sung to me yet like the Platona. Eager to see the WG blue and new YG green in person. Thanks John, that's how I am strongly leaning. Thanks Thanks for the feedback, still not totally out of the picture. Thanks Geraldo, whats you address... Quote:
I agree GMT complication is needed in my collection , but I don't travel that much. However, I do want a GMT at some point, perhaps I will get the YG GMT II next followed by Platona hopefully... Then I would have a different 4 different PMs (RG, YG, WG, Platinum) in 4 different rolex sports watches (YM , SubC, Daytona and GMT). That's kinda the plan, but I don't always keep well to plans...LOL... |

I have a YG GMT and it is a great watch. You can grab one super cheap used.
Get the YM with the rubber for the summer, and add the other in a bit. JPS

DayDate II or DayDate40
It will bring a lot more personality to your collection. I would also recommend the 5711 Rose if it's in the budget. |

RG YM is an amazing piece, but the GMT or the RG Daytona seem a better value, considering how much more PM you get for the same price. Seems to me Rolex is really profiting off the oyster band....Having said that if the RG YM was MSRP 20k it would be a slam dunk with appropriate discount

Most likely I am going to have both, leaning YM first. I will wear the rubber 99% of the time anyway. I talked to a Rubber B dealer in Florida who also sells Rolexes and he sent me many pictures of both current and previous generation YG GMTs on rubber B straps. I just like the way the YM looks better on rubber. But that picture doesn't help... Thanks for the feedback Clive, A lot of GMT votes here. Quote:

Thanks Tony, that is the direction I am leaning I agree that green hand looks great, especially in Neil's photo. YG GMT might not be next for me but it's my favorite looking "YG" Rolex watch and on my short list of watches I want. |

Too similar to the Subs IMO.
Not a fan of the YM either. How about branching out? Either a Milgauss, Explorer 1 if you *must* stay with Rolex. Or.. AP, Omega (Speedy Pro) or a Zenith El Primero. |
