If you had to pick...

If you had to pick, which one would you go with?

Rolex Daytona or Rolex Deep Sea Sea Dweller James Cameron?

I'm torn, the Daytona is just a classic and I feel you can't go wrong but that DSSD Cameron edition is just amazing!

Classy/classic vs sport/more unique. The Seep Sea will also be a physically bigger watch.

my two cents: probably Daytona.

Are you referring to the new Daytona C? If so, that is my pick

The Daytona, no question.

Wears better on my wrist, not gigantic and the chrono is a versatile complication to have.

Depends on if the Daytona has a ceramic dial or not.

Any Daytona as I don't like the bulky Deep Sea at all.

Both great watches...As an everyday watch easy choice Daytona. As a change of pace weekend watch in a collection D Blue is killer addition. I own both and love each one but for different reasons. I will tell you the DSSD is not an under the cuff work watch so for me it is purely weekends or casual golf shirt days.

Daytona for sure. I tried on the normal deep sea today and it felt too clunky on the wrist.

Daytona C white dial for me. I tried the Deep Sea on and it is too bulky for me. The new Daytona C with the white dial is a lot more versatile and easy to wear IMHO.

I don't think it is officially named after him by Rolex. The reference to him was made by watch collectors because he took the watch in a deep dive in his submersible. It is like the Paul Newman Daytona is not officially named by Rolex neither.

Daytona, no question... Sizing aside, the deep blue edition seems a little gimmicky to me. The Daytona model has a solid history with no celeb plug needed.

Because he is seen wearing it in the new Rolex catalog.

I think it depends on the person's wrist size, and what you already have in your collection.

I definitely agree on maybe it being a little gimmicky. Besides that I think it's an amazing timepiece but also agree that it is not an under the cuff watch which makes it hard to wear a lot of the time.

I do love the Daytona forsure! Just wanted to see what everyone else thought.

For me, Daytona definitely.

Well said Ken.

Although I don't own the 500C, I did purchase a D blue recently and I can tell you, it's a thing of beauty. The dial is absolutely mesmerizing and the weight and overall heft is perfect! Also, the engineering that went into this design is remarkable

I'd say Daytona because of the size. But if it were between the Daytona and the SD4K then I'd have a harder time deciding.

While it's not officially named after Cameron, I do believe it's the first and only Rolex to have an actual official affiliation/partnership with a person/celebrity. Could be wrong though. Anyone?

From what I have researched before, the DSSD was made for the Mariana Trench Dive that James Cameron made. I think Rolex designed and built the watch in about 5 weeks for use on the dive.
He was wearing one inside the submersible, and there was also one strapped to one of the robotic arms on the submersible.

To me, it is far from "gimmicky". On earth, that exploration mission was probably the most dangerous you could ever do, piloted by a man who is a film director, not a engineer or career marine pilot (don't know the word for it).

If I had to pick, it would be the DSSD.

Daytona, either one. I feel like Fred Flintstone with that giant Deepsea strapped to my wrist. Although, it might come in handy next time you plan to dive the Mariana Trench and don't feel compelled to bring a dive computer.
