Would you trade a 26400 novelty for an 116619 smurf?
Hi All,
I was thinking about trading my AP 26400SO + a bit of cash for a Rolex 116619 Smurf? I have always wanted a Rolex PM and I was just thinking that going from AP to Rolex is like taking a step down in a sense especially in this case when both watches are valued so closely in terms of $. What do you guys think? Would just want input to see if I'll pull the trigger or not. Thanks! |

I wouldn't. The AP has more character and is rugged enough to be a daily as well

+1 I wouldn't even consider it. But if I have a smurf I would definitely trade up for your Ap however, since u consider moving it there must be a reason ? Is it the fit does it fit too large or just bored? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Keep the 44
It's much more special-dial, movement, rarity, etc While a Smurf isn't common for a Rolex, Subs are common |

neither is the smurf ... To compare the smurf with any sub is ludicrous... I woouldnf think twice ... Get the dmirf . It's in another class all by itself ... |

You have a basic movement and finishing with PM in one case, a top notch movement and case finishing in the other not to mention very comfortable for such a big watch, as much as I like the design of the Rolex I couldn't go from the AP to it, too big downgrade IMO

I prefer the Smurf. Almost a perfect watch in my opinion.

How about a strap swap to change things up a bit? I wouldn't downgrade to a Sub.

Thanks everyone for your input. Definitely staying put. All the great points about uniqueness, movement, character have all convinced me to ignore the itch. Appreciate it guys.

Keep the 44 and scratch the itch with an LVc?

I understand the lure of full gold but I would hate to give up the 44, maybe go for the 44 RG or even plat if you want white metal.

If anything, trade up for a RG44... one of AP's best looking Offshores, imo

I love the smurf, but unless you're going to a platona I wouldn't trade any 44mm offshore for it.

Love both but won't do it. (I'll probably look for a pre owned just to scratch an itch)
