Submariner Deep Blue Ceramic? 116610BL
I saw this for sale. Real or fake? I didn't know Rolex made the blue/black dial in a Submariner if real.
Thanks! Darrin |

As of current, there is no 116610 model that has the deep blue dial as an option. The picture of the watch above looks authentic minus the dial. What they did was they took a Rolex stock photo and photo shopped the dial. So if they are selling it to you, you will be scammed, and you won't even receive any watch probably.

Thanks for the help! I just had an interesting chat with the gentleman selling. It's a pre-owned Sub with original registration. He has a manufacturer create the face and installs it himself. He has an in house watch repair facility. He fully acknowledges it's not a Rolex product. I'd say it's akin to buying a Porsche and the customizing it using non-Porsche parts. He'll take my American Express and offered 14 days to take it back. If he scams me, American Express has no issue giving my money back and charging him back.
I don't think this affects my ability to have it serviced by an AD, right? I love the look and willing to accept it's not a Rolex spec. Am I screwing myself???? :) |

Definitely computer generated.. but if Rolex made that watch I'd buy it in a heart beat.

This watch is not made by Rolex in this dial variation.

Yep, dial is counterfeit. So, obviously not changed out by any RSC. That alone would make me question what else was replaced/swapped, the experience level of the watchmaker, and if the watch was properly sealed/pressure tested afterwards.
Short answer: Pass. |
