Question re 1012/1013
Hi gents,
You might remember I've been on the lookout for a 1013 and sadly missed the one selling for USD7800 a few months ago on eBay. I've seen others since then (without the bracelet) but I'm not sure if they're correct. The only difference between the 1012 and the 1013 was the bezel, right? With the 1012 being smooth and the 1013 fluted? I'm tempted to contact the seller of the 1013 in London (eBay auction just ended today) but I'd like to have the facts in hand before any talk of a purchase begins - I'd hate to wind up with a franken. Thanks for any responses! |

I think the lug width is different, the 1013 is 20mm, not sure on the 1012. There is another 1013 on ebay right now. Looks pretty nice to me, but I'm no expert.

All due respect, the lug width on the 1012 is 20mm. Not easy to find these, alas.

Hope you find a nice one soon. I've yet to see the one I purchased in the flesh yet. Another week to go before I get my hands on it.

Just arrived. I'm not sure I've seen a nicer example, frankly, the dial and hands are lovely! Very pleased to add it to the family!
I think Hodinkee Ben is right in his admiration for the 101X line, they're such well-proportioned watches, each is a delight to the eye, so well designed. Pic links again, they're not showing up in preview: http://imgur.com/a/gCg12 http://imgur.com/a/QFjgL |

18K, no? Not that it makes any difference to me - I buy to wear, not imprison or flip - but everything I've read says 18K for the 1012/1013, these are solid cases, not plated/filled/capped like the 1014. And the numbers you're drawing a blank for...not sure they used every number in the sequence, dunno what a 1015 or 1017 might be but Google draws a blank.
If I had slightly smaller wrists I'd be looking at the 34mm references but sadly 36mm is as small as I go. Anyway, these Oyster Perpetuals are my favourites. I blame u/motoikkyu for getting me started on this, but I like where it ended up! |
