Tanzania Safari
Since many of us share diverse interests besides watches, I wanted to share my recent experience in Africa since two of my other interests are travel and photography. My family and I spent 10 days total in Tanzania exploring Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and the Serengeti. It is actually a little hard to describe the safari experience other than it is incredible to see these animals in their beautiful natural environments. Admittedly, I'm a photography enthusiast so the idea of spending a day driving around looking for animals and trying to capture great photos appeals to me a lot. The Tanzanian people we met were wonderful and I can't say enough how wonderful the entire experience was. IMHO, a safari should be considered for everyone's bucket list.
I literally have a thousand pictures but thought I'd share a few of my favorites. Most of these were shot with my Olympus EM1 and a Panasonic Leica 100-400 f4-6.3 lens. |

It is a beautiful part of the world with great diversity in the places you visited. I have no doubt it was a fabulous trip and experience. Congrats!

Cool photos....I lived in Dar es Salaam for 5 years and was lucky enough to be able to visit the game parks north and south....this was in the 2000's.....the accomodation could be superb or downright dreadful!!

Wonderful photo's.
My wife and I went on safari for our honeymoon. To this day the best trip we've ever been on. We came back with 20GB worth of images and that was in 2008! I took a Nikon D80 and a 300mm zoom lens. Would we do it again? Hell yeah!! We're just going to pick our moment when our son is old enough to fully appreciate it. Safari really should be on peoples bucket list! |

I absolutely would do it again. We did, but were a long distance from the only rhino we saw. Absolutely. More will be on the way. |

Nice!
It's on the agenda in a couple more years when the kids are a bit older, along with climbing Kilimanjaro.

I would love to go on a safari, however I would probably have to go alone as my wife thinks Holiday Inn is roughing it.
Your pictures are fantastic and I thank you for sharing them with us. |

Those photos are National Geographic stuff. Love the cheetah with its kill. So fascinating.
Seeing as we are both in Indiana how does the cost of the overall trip compare to other "exotic" type destinations, like Hawaii or even Europe from the Midwest? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
