What's wrong with my watch strap ?

Hello,

I just bought my first Rolex ^_^

It's a pre-owned Submariner 2002 (14060) with all the papers so I know it's not a fake.

I have a feeling something's not right with the strap. It looks like I'm missing something. A link maybe ?

Can anyone help me ?

Well first of all it looks like it's way too tight.

At least when your hand gets amputated, it'll have a ROLEX on it

That has got to hurt! Definetely add a link and look at the clasp to see if there is room to get more width.

Besides it being too tight....shouldn't that link be on the other side of the clasp? It is on my 16710 (78790A bracelet).

Edit: Nevermind, I now see that link is on the opposite side on the 93150. It's correct....still too tight though!

Way too tight ... You need to add more links to it

Looks dang uncomfortable. You need the bracelet sizing properly and the clasp centralising. An extra link on the 12 side and some micro adjustment in the clasp should do it. Is there room in the clasp to drop the bracelet out a couple of notches? You may not need an extra link.

Two things...

1. Having some papers does not "prove" that any watch is authentic.

2. Nothing wrong with the photo of the bracelet; that is exactly how it should look.

As to how tight you wear it, that is entirely up to you.

Funny how people feel that the counterfeiters have mastered making a fake watch, but they couldn't possibly figure out a way to create fake paperwork

Welcome, watch looks nice! As said above bracelet looks tight; did it came with extra links? Also, what position it is currently on the clasp? You should be able to loosen it a bit at clasp, unless it is already at the biggest adjustment position

Add 1 link to the 12 oclock side, move the spring bar on the clasp a position tighter, and you're good!

Thanks to everybody for shedding some light into my question.

Apparently, the clasp is at its maximum length and strange enough against all appearance, the strap is not tight at all on my wrist. I guess it's the gravity of the watch that makes the strap sink a little bit into my wrist.

My question came from the fact that the clasp doesn't cover the first link of the strap (the side where the crown is facing up). I don't see how adding a link will change the appearance since it's the basic connecting link to the strap. Is this normal ? Can anyone confirm if my bracelet is the original one sold with my model ? A Submariner 14060 (2002).

Have to agree makes me smile by the word papers anyone would think it's like several sheets of documentation instead of one sheet, that's a mostly out-dated warranty like you get with most goods today.And yes they are the easiest to fake and dont always prove authenticity of any watch.And to the OP if there is no adjustment left by moving the spring-bar in clasp, you could try and add a link .Bracelet should be a snug fit just so you can get tip of pinky finger under clasp.

I agree with you about potentialy fake papers but believe I have taken enough precations to allow me to secure my purchase.

1. The serial number and model number engraved behing the strap are the same as on the Rolex papers.

2. I have the Invoice from the watch store indicating the same serial and model number.

3. The buyer allowed me to take a picture of his ID.

4. I checked his name on the Internet and found his picture and name as the sales rep of a big company.

5. I don't what else I can do?

release the divers extension ,, if fitted , and order a couple of links ,, then adjust to suit

divers extension is just a temporary fix till you get links , but it will keep it comfy for now, till links arrive ..

That link on the 6:00 side looks weird to me. I'm not a bracelet expert though.

As mentioned before, the divers extension is out. This is supposed to be used for temporary relief when your wrist swells up on hot days or when wearing your watch with a diver suit. You should order one or two links and close the extension and you will be fine.

Nobody thinks that your watch is a fake.. The point was that "papers" are easy to make and also come with counterfeit watches..

As to the bracelet again.. I only see 11 links and a 93150 bracelet comes with 12, so you are missing one.

Nice watch. The place the original buyer got it from probably kept the extra link when they sized it intending to put it to use on another buyer's watch. Cheeky but it happens. No big deal.

Great watch. As has been said already, it is a link short. Links are all over Ebay.m and maybe even the classified section here. Pick one up and you are good to go.
