Icon20 Two tone electric blue submariner vs Rose Gold Yacht Master (with photos)

Hello. I never saw a Rose Gold Yacht Master up close and held one in my hands until recently.

I always appreciated rose gold over yellow gold in general, after checking this Yacht Master, I seriously will have to consider adding this one to my collection one day. Well... to be fair I haven't seen too many others that have caught my eye, but who is to say in the future Rolex won't release another rose gold model that would grab my attention more so.

The two tone electric blue submariner is near the top of my list. Comparing the two, the sub is about 10% heavier, and thicker than the Yacht Master.

The extra weight and thickness of the dial puts the sub in front of the YM.

The YM is more expensive but in a similar ball park to the sub.

Blue is my favourite colour anyway, and have been unable to find another blue dial that interests me more than this one.

I am glad I didn't get an earlier model, even the earlier electric blue was less weighty, and less solid links than this beauty.

Feel free to add any insight from owners of either, or have at least felt these newer models in your hands, how they impressed you.

Sounds like both are singing to you but I'd wait a little longer until one clearly emerges as the fat lady.

While I like the new YM, there aren't many watches that would beat out the sub, IMO.

And it sounds like you want it...so, go for it. Always good to have something to shoot for down the road.

Sounds like you already have the answer to your question. Buy the bluesy and make the screaming stop

Yesterday I took part at a Rolex event in Cologne (Germany) and put on several watches, also the two new YM with grey dial and the rosegold version.
The rosegold YM is awsome

But the Sub is my watch I prefer

The YM looks wonderful! I can see the attraction as it appears a little more mature on the wrist (if that makes any sense).

If blue is your favourite colour then I'm surprised the blue dial 2-tone YM isn't in this list.

I love my bluesey but as others have posted, any hint of gold (esp yellow gold) is kindof screaming for attention and you have to decide if you will have enough occasions to wear this watch. Even recently, I have stopped wearing it with certain new friends who are more modest. Some people say 'wear what you want' but you don't want to flash it in people's faces at the same time and draw unwanted attention

That two-tone Sub is one of the few watches I've flipped that I wish I still had. It's a beauty.

In the nineties some people said that they were to eighties. They never go out of style, it's a classic look. With that said, they are not to everyones taste; never have been and never will be. I for one love them, my bluesy is my most worn Rolex.

For me the TT Sub is the one to get. I had one, sold it and regretted selling it.

I am not big fan of Sub and always preferred YM (especially with blue dial), however, in this case TT Sub with blue dial looks amazing. When I tried it I even was considering to buy it... however, TT DJII won :)

The TT Sub is top of my list for my next.

I'm currently debating between the TT Sub and the new SS Daytona.

Hey - It's a nice problem to have, I just wish I could get both!

I have the blue sub, and it's gorgeous, I get a ton of compliments on it, and I love it. The YM is unique, but resale sucks on those things and I do like the flip the collection occasionally. I personally don't care for the color of the face, it needs more contrast.

That YM has a little too much feminine vibe for my taste...I think it would great on a woman who wants a masculine looking watch without the cliche submariner styling and color ques.

The TT is an iconic piece, and that will NEVER be said of that YM, never in our lifetimes at least.

Goodluck!

I recently purchased the 116613LB the Blue two tone Sub.

You will not be disappointed. It is stunning and looks like a million bucks in the sun!

It has replaced my DSSD as my daily driver and I am looking to unload the DSSD as I never wear it any more. I should have bought this watch FIRST!

=)
