2002 16710a

Hi

I own three 6-digits reference Rolex but never any 5-digit reference.

I came across a 2002 16710A (Coke) selling for USD5,500 (good price?)

It has the box, certificates, links, tags, instruction booklet and the receipt too.

The watch is in fairy good, unpolished condition, although dirt spotted accumulated between the links. It has never been serviced. The nearest RSC is 2 hours away by flight.

It wears lighter than my LV and I believe that is due to the smaller case, lighter bracelets and such. I understand the serial number is not engraved inside the rehaut at the 6 o'clock position, neither are the RolexRolexRolex can be found.

I do intend to source the original Pepsi insert if I do proceed with this purchase.

Appreciate your advice on what shall I be looking for in terms of authenticity? Thank you.

Price is great for sure if it's really unpolished . Safest way for authenticity is using Watchmaker to open and review movement. If it's legit you'd regret not picking this up. I'd keep the coke bezel since it's originally 16710a for sure.

Thank you for the advice. It is possible to get a Pepsi insert and swaps as when desired, right?

Yeah that's exactly what most do with 16710. They change between coke, black, pepsi, and jubilee bracelet to always have variety.

Well then that's another issue.

Don't buy from a seller you don't trust. / have great references for.

Walk away - unless you have a way to 100% authenticate.

You have to buy the seller first. Is the seller willing to have it authenticated?

Hey, the watch is back in the market! The potential buyer could not come up with the funds and I have now until next Wednesday to pay for it!

Wanted a Pepsi, I supposed since this is a complete set and at a good price, I shall get it and source a Pepsi insert for variety, right guys?

If your're comfortable with the seller, it looks like a great deal. Send it off for a full service and you'll get back a like new 16710 for just over 6k, all in.
