The new Cellini is an everyday wear.

I know I am on a hiding to nothing; but I want to put the case for the new Cellini models as great everyday watches. An excellent alternative to something like a Datejust.
These lovely looking models now have proper screw down crowns. Not for swimming, but fine for normal use. A genuine fifty metres. And these new models use the standard Rolex 'engines' with all the rugged shock proofing that entails. In truth, they going to withstand the same treatment as any Datejust except for swimming, which I would never do with a gold watch...including a gold submariner.
I prefer the Cellini to a sports model, because they look a lot more handsome and elegant. Better, to my taste, than commercial rivals which cost more.
Anyway, slowly, people may begin to pay more attention. Maybe! But I won't hod my breath.

Cellini Time

I also have a Cellini Time and could not be more pleased. It is a gorgeous watch. Hopefully, in time, it will get a little more recognition.

Had a chance to see try them on, they are beautiful and elegant watches. I wish they were a bit thinner and had a display caseback.

I think an ideal daily watch have to be able to take - if not submerging - at least heavy rain and condensation. Because there is no standard for 30 meters or 50 meters WR AFAIK this is a confusing area. Patek normally have 30 meters and AP 20 meters while JLC has both 30 and 50.

Cellini's have always been every day watches..

The Prince models have been the ones that have caught most WIS attention, but they have always been as robust and reliable as any other model.

All these talks and not a single wristshot? C'mon. I have never seen a Cellini wristshot. Would love to see one!

I like the Cellini in a vacuum, but at the price level of the Cellini, I think there are better options out there.

For a Rolex, I think the Cellini is a nice dress watch. I have seen my Rolex AD manager wear the WG Cellini Time. It has a very professional appearance when worn with a suit.

However since Rolex is known more for their professional series watches, they are not as popular. Also there is a lot of competition from other watch manufacturers for dress watches in this price range.

Agreed, and I think brands like JLC, Vacheron Constantin, PP, FP Journe, Moser and many, many others do dress watches far better than Rolex. Nothing wrong with Cellini, just not for me. The flip side is that Rolex do sport/professional watches better than most, if not all of the above.
