I've always been a blue collar guy when it comes to wallets....

But after a few drinks my wife talked me into this..... I like blue I'm used to having a money clip.... we'll see...... The one LV had with a money clip wasn't big enough.... I'm pretty sure there is a "rolex and your wallet" thread but I couldn't find it.

I have the blue LV Epi leather wallet and it is the single best, most durable, wallet I have ever owned (and I'm 66).

Is LV's Epi Leather actually leather? As in actual animal hide?

The word "leather" is thrown about so wildly now and almost none of it is actual animal hide and the luxury brands are the worst at inventing names to obfusticate.

I ask as I'm researching a purchase and I refuse to spend good money on vinyl with a fancy made up name, and LV won't clarify (or the staff simply don't know).

I think you need to walk over to Hermes for quality leather products. LV made its name on canvas products.

The wife loves LV, I'm wise to "Plastic coated canvas."

I think I already know the answer, but I ask because Epi Leather was originally a treatment for leather but the term is now used so loosely that I don't trust it.

I checked out the wallet thread. This sure is a brand-infatuated forum! I much prefer to focus on quality, durability and value. My Filson wallet is probably 10 years old and has tons of character.

This thread got me thinking and looking at my Gucci wallet. I even louped it to check for pours. I'm pretty sure it's leather.

That looks great! I'll have to go to LV next time I'm in the big city.

I think there is a watch and your wallet somewhere, but in celebration of your excellent combo, I humbly offer my watch and wallet combo.

Just picked this up in NYC when we were suppose to be exchanging my finances hand bag. I just love all things olive green.
