Awwwww shucks.....you damn butter-fingered Americans!!

Well,

Dropping the baton once in a 4 x 100 m relay is bad enough, but we had BOTH - the men's and women's American relay teams spill the baton all over the field during the exchange.

How could this possibly happen with such experienced athletes at such a high level is beyond my comprehension!!

Sorry for the rant, but I was extremely disappointed to see my favourite team bow out so clumsily!!

I'm sorry JJ but could the men have beaten the winning team if they didn't drop the baton? Be honest. Did you see the lead of the final runner?

Agreed....but then at least they would have gone down with some dignity and honour......instead of their clumsy, slip-shod exit!!
