I'd say less but prices are nuts these days ;)

Wish I had seen this locally. This is my barn find dream - a bakelite 6542.

I am going to throw up now

I hear you man. It seems to have the right bezel. And the white sec hand. This is the ultimate barn find. However, making an offer would be a nightmare. I would be tempted to offer a few thousand and hope for the best. However this would give you a first class ticket to hell. You know, the bad part of hell. Not the cool part with cobain and mantle. Lol

Most likely a $100,000 plus to the right buyer. Condition of the tropical dial and bakelite insert/bezel is outstanding.

Yeah he is misguided by greed...but I would expect the same behavior from other dealers too.

This guy has a gem that he probably paid next to nothing for....great he won the lottery.

But if he was smart he would consign with a reputable dealer that would get a cut of the profit. It's a good deal for both parties.

10-15% commission on the sale with must sell price of TBD (50k-75k).

Lets see if he comes to his (her) senses.

That is an auction catalog cover worthy piece. You shouldn't pay 15pct commission. I have negotiated 5 in the past. But I agree with you that this is the best bet. Auctions are great for something so spectacular.

Anyone know what happened with it? Looks like the relisting was removed as well.

I'm sure one of the known dealers will be the temporary recipient of this fine piece in the next day or two.

Wow what a find. Even better than the one from a year or so ago found disassembled in a box here in Texas in an estate sale (the thread is around here somewhere).

I remember this one, that guy made out well since he only paid $5 for the bin :)

Whoa! Absolutely stunning. I had an encounter with someone that had a 6262 Daytona last year that they were debating if it was worth getting serviced or scrapped. People just don't know. They were very surprised with the valuation I was able to obtain.
