What do you think of the gloss-gone-matte dial?

Hi all,

I am new here, and is looking to buy my first Rolex. I've seen several 16800 subs for sale where the dial has the gloss changed to matte. I am not sure how I feel about the look.

How would you value a watch that has this gloss-gone-matte dial? Less? More? Doesn't change it?

thanks,
anthony

Welcome to the Forum!

Can you post a picture to opine? What year production period do you refer, early matte dial or later white gold surround?

It's all about the overall condition of the watch and price, of course..

I think it looks cool, but that dial looked like it has a very fine "spider" effect on it - cracks rather than actual matte.
