Rolex 2280--Oyster Royal

Someone showed me this watch and I would be interested to know more about it.

Any info is appreciated. Dial, hands, case.....
Thanks.

It's a SpeedKing, Royal, Imperial etc. 2280 reference. Calibre 700 10.5 H. It's about 29-30mm. Quite small.

Probably adjusted to 2 positions. Non Chronometer rated. Not shock resisting so don't drop it. :-)

Dial is original. Hands definitely re-lumed but also I've not seen this style before. Rolex mvts. don't use standard hand pipe sizes so they would have had to have been fitted. If the lume matched they wouldn't be out of place. Lots of hand styles in that era I just haven't seen the big sword hour hand before. Also the seconds hand is a little odd but once again...nothing is impossible.

Thank you for taking the time to reply and giving all the details.

It tempts me, however I belive the small size won't make it wearable for
me. I don't mind 34mm but 30-31mm is jst a tad too small. I like to wear every watch I collect.

You know this was quite normal back in the day.

It's very wearable...I mean depending on how big of a person you are it has some significance but really this was a very common size for men to wear in 30's-50's and it is vintage and that's part of the charm.
